TJ had had a crush on Lizzie since junior high, but just never had the courage to confess his feelings. He would make up all sorts of excuses to be close to Lizzie. Often he would stop her in the hallway and ask her the first thing that came to mind, like “Where’d you get your shoes?” or “how do i delete songs from my ipod?” Lizzie never made fun of him or made him feel stupid, which fueled TJ’s hope that she may have feelings for him too. On prom night, he gathered his courage and asked Lizzie to be his date. To his surprise, Lizzie accepted, saying that she’d been waiting forever for him to make a move and had just about given up when he asked her out.
