Don’t Trust Most Mechanics

I don’t trust mechanics. Never have. All they want to do is rip you off and take all of your hard-earned money. It’s easier to fix the car yourself, reading books about car repair and diagnosing problems as they come. I taught this principle to my son, and he seemed to understand. Of course, now he’s up and become a mechanic that owns a shop. He even has automotive repair shop software on his computer so he can keep track of customers and cars. He has become the very thing that I’ve been railing against for the past 30 years. Of course, I’m sure he doesn’t rip people off like most do, but I really don’t know how to think positively about this career choice.
