Living in Nevada, the sun can be brutal during the summer. Since moving here last year from Idaho, I’ve had to adjust to several things related to the extreme heat. My air conditioner runs up my electric costto numbers I didn’t know existed on a utility bill. My car is so hot after being parked outside that I’d almost rather walk home from work than get inside my car. And my poor outdoor furniture has lost all its color. If I had realized the extent of the damage that could be caused by the sun, I would have bought patio furniture covers. Living in the hot desert sure makes me homesick.
