No matter what size cu ft electric concfrete mixer you are using, gather all the equipment and tools so that you will be ready to work when the concrete is mixed. Put water in a five gallon bucket close to the mixer. Position the wheelbarrow so that the concrete can be poured into it. Protect the area where you need to using a tarp to keep concrete off of areas where you do not want them.Place the lever in the upright position and be sure that it is locked in place. Add the water to the barrel and start the mixer. Let the barrel get wet before your add the concrete, sand and gravel. After all the dry ingredients are added let the mixer turn until the correct consistency is reached. Add water as necessary.
