Maria had just left their office Christmas party. She was carrying a large green bag filled with presents she had gotten from her co-workers. She had already opened the presents at the party as was the custom and she had received several handmade christmas gifts like scarves and sweaters. She also received a few gift checks and some donations made in her name to some charitable institution. She was commuting to her apartment and the streets were still bustling with people who, like her, were also going home since it was the last day of work. She opted to take the metro because it was faster and she got off her stop and walked for 2 more blocks before she arrived home to be greeted by her husband and kids.
